HMP Broadstone is a Category D male training prison located in Poole, Dorset.
We accept adults men convicted of offences by local courts with a low risk of escape. Some prisoners are licensed for leave, which means they may choose to work in the local community.
We also provide support facilities to our partners at HMP Stourside, a nearby Category A prison.
At HMP Broadstone, we are committed to reforming and rehabilitating all of our prisoners. We believe that everyone is entitled to fair and decent treatment, regardless of what mistakes they have made.
As a partially open prison, we focus on giving prisoners the skills they need to live a better life after serving their sentence. Our regime caters to the variety and diversity of our prison population, providing them with both education and opportunities to help the local community.
We have created a healthy and benefical environment for all prisoners and employees through work, education, and healthcare - helping them to work towards their planned release from the moment they enter the prison.
Our employees are highly trained to operate a modern prison effectively and efficiently, with the skills needed to be able to respond to the needs of prisoners. Our values are central to the work we do and the way we perform it.
I am incredibly proud of the staff at HMP Broadstone and the work we do to change the lives of our prisoners.
